SimpleSoft Announces New Version of
SimpleAgentPro/ Enterprise Simulators for Data Centers

Enhances Multi-Protocol Support for Data Center Simulations

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA–(Marketwired – Aug 7, 2013) – SimpleSoft, the leading provider of network and cloud management simulation and test tools, today announced version 17.0 of SimpleAgentPro and SimpleAgentEnterprise simulators, which allow users to develop, test, train and demonstrate management applications for today’s complex data centers.

Among other improvements, the new release enhances management protocol support for IPMI, VMware’s vSphere API and SOAP, and provides a 64bit Linux version of SAPro. The user interface has also been improved, and more Sathrd/Tcl scripting commands have been added to help in test automation.

While SNMP continues to be the leading Internet standard for network management, applications utilize a variety of management protocols to monitor and control today’s large data centers. Telnet/CLI, SSH, HTTP, HTTPs, TFTP, FTP, IPMI, Netflow, SOAP, XML and VMware’s vSphere APIs are often used in addition to SNMP to effectively manage multi-vendor, heterogeneous environments. Recognizing this need, SimpleSoft has continued to enhance its popular device simulators, SimpleAgentPro/Enterprise, to support all these protocols. “As applications use SNMP/CLI for networks, syslog/traps for events, IPMI for server health, and SOAP/VMware vSphere APIs for managing virtualized cloud infrastructure, we have continued to enhance our simulator offerings,” said Sudhir Pendse, SimpleSoft CEO. “Our customers can now simulate large data centers with thousands of VMs to carry out scalability, performance, and pre-deployment testing of their cloud management solutions.”

SimpleAgentPro/Enterprise can dramatically reduce test infrastructure setup costs by simulating thousands of expensive managed devices on a single machine. Version 17.0 can quickly create new data centers made up of UPSs, networking gear, storage, and virtualized servers, or can learn from existing data centers. Simulated environments can then be used during application development; while doing functional, scalability, error and pre-deployment testing; when duplicating customer issues; and for training and sales demonstrations.
